Featured Seamstress: Donna

Name: Donna

Skill Level: Intermediate/Advanced

Pattern: Crepe

Her Blog: Random Knits

What kind of fabric did you use? I used a 100% cotton floral print that I loved as soon as I saw it! For the ties I used Kaffe Fasset’s shot cotton in Vermillion.

How did you decide to reflect your personal style in the pattern? I loved that the pattern was so feminine! The pink and red in the floral print is completely me. I work in a craft store, so I make an effort to wear something handmade every day, so this year I’ve made a lot of pretty sundresses. This is absolutely one of my favourites, and it always receives lot of compliments!

What thoughts do you have about the project? This was a great pattern for any level of seamstress. There’s no buttonholes or zippers to worry about, and not a ridiculous number of pattern pieces, but it looks so great finished, and is so wearable. The hardest part about it is the armhole facings, but if you take your tine and think about what you’re doing, it’s not bad. The instructions are very thorough, and easy to follow.

Thanks, Donna!

This is so sweet! The fabric is adorable and I love the sash- it looks like you should picking strawberries in a field. Kudos!

I love this dress in floral! I have this pattern and I read through it but just haven’t gotten to it yet. Seeing it in the floral really inspires me….

Your Crepe looks lovely. I tried to make this dress, but I had an epic fail with fitting, totally my fault. I should have made a muslin first. It is still on my list of projects to do. Hopefully, my next attempt will look as good as this one. I like your choice of the floral print.

Definitely believe that which you said. Your favorite reason seemed to
be on the internet the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get annoyed while
people think about worries that they plainly do not know about.
You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well as defined out the whole thing without having side-effects ,
people can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more.

Thanks
