These gloves made by John Koch are breathtaking, aren’t they? There is a Gallery of Gorgeous Gloves by this master milliner over at Threads. Apparently, their latest issue features a demonstration on custom made gloves!
I’m excited to get it, as I’d love to try my hand (ha!) at this skill. I even have a vintage pattern for gloves and matching scarf I picked up recently.

Go check out the whole gallery at Threads!

Yes! I got my issue in the mail the other day, and was drooling over these. I would love to make a pair of elbow-length ones to pair with coats that have 3/4 sleeves.
Also, there’s a great article from Susan Khalje on creating an “inner corselet” for strapless dresses that helps with support. It was a revelation to me!
oh, fun! i got into glove making last year and was happy to find out that it’s tons easier than I first thought it was going to be. the thumb’s a little tricky, but other than that, it’s pretty straight forward.
Those are gorgeous! Gloves are one of those things that are on my “to make before I die” list. lol. I have a book from the 70s that has instructions on sewing gloves, and it’s always intrigued me! I especially love the idea of highly decorated gloves, rather than just plain ones. ;)
ohhh, great!!! beautiful blog, good ideas!!! ;)
