Spring color

It’s definitely Springtime where I live, and there are flowers everywhere. With that, I’m starting to finally get back into pastels. I’m definitely gravitating more towards the ice-cream colored silks and flowered cottons at the fabric store lately, how about you?

So I thought I’d share some Spring color inspiration that I’ve been enjoying.

Lovely images – I’m so ready for spring hues and summery florals, even if the weather’s not 100% there yet. Thanks for sharing!

Ha- funny, “YUM!” was exactly what I had to say too! Definitely feeling the pastels this year, experimenting with shades of lavender and periwinkle. Maybe the dramatic novelty of them, nothing like that in my wardrobe since the early 80s, so they feel so exciting, like newly-invented colors as I work with them- funny when pastel feels radical!

woah, i love pastels… on other people. they always make me look very mousy and grey. i stick to my grey-blue-red-white-black color scheme!

I hear you, they definitely are one of those things that work great on some people and not so much for others. I think the key is to have some contrast.

yes, it’s the same for small floral prints, i love how they look on others but they tend to look very dull on me. i’m the pale type with green eyes and brown hair, and a basic color with a red splash, or one bold item combined with basic colors, just do so much more for me than pastels or florals.

i do wear quite a lot of off-white though. it’s not as harsh as white but still very light and summery, and makes bolder colors or statement pieces a lot softer.

Oooh pretty! I always bring down my Spring & Summer clothes from the attic at this time of year, and even going through them makes me smile – just need a summer ball to wear some gorgeous pastel floaty dress to now…

Oh, yes! I have an event to go to in July and I am getting excited about dresses. I’m going to treat myself to something…and shoes, too!

Hair gone grey, said bye bye to color long ago. Love the ease of my grey, but finding the right color palette has been a challenge. Prefer strong colors but they look harsh with the grey hair and my skin tone. Spring colors palette may be an inspiration.
