The great sewing blog roundup!

Ok guys, I feel that my links have become embarrassingly outdated. A long while back, I just threw up some of my favorite links and haven’t had a chance to revise them or seek out new ones.

I think it’s important that we get to know our community of fellow sewers, so I’m putting a call out! I’d love it if you could comment and tell me a little about your sewing or crating related blog. Please write in your comments:

  1. Your name (first name is fine, or if you prefer some other nickname or handle, that’s a-ok)
  2. The name of your blog
  3. The link to your blog
  4. A short (140 characters or less) description of your blog

Your blog should have something to do with sewing or making, even if that’s not the primary focus. Please no links to non-blogs (etsy stores, etc).

I’m going to go through all the links you give me and add them to my blogroll, and I’m also planning to add a rotating “featured reader blog” spot that will have a link and the description of your blog.

To keep this manageable, I will keep this open for one week, so you have until Wednesday, March 10, then I will close comments. Thank you all, I can’t wait to check out your links!

Sorry, I’m a little late to the game here…. I started my blog last fall as I started to learn to sew. I thought it would be a good incentive to sew on a regular basis. Little did I know sewing would take over my life and I’ve become completely addicted to the online sewing community. My blog is a mix of my finished products and occasional meditations on sewing related topics.

My name is Leslie and my blog is called Sewin’ Seeds. I started it to motivate myself to sew on a more regular basis and not have big gaps between projects. It makes me sew more because I know I have to blog about it. That’s the kind of motivation behind it. I’m not an advanced sewer by any means. But I do love to sew and talk, read anything sewing. My site is at http://sewinseeds.blogspot.com.

My blog is about sewing too. I have rediscovered it after years of relegating my sewing to mending only! I am really having fun trying new patterns and a variety of fabrics.

I started my blog (The Sweaty Knitter – http://sweatyknitter.wordpress.com) earlier this year. I knit, weave, crochet, spin and sew. Currently most of my projects are knitting and weaving. The last major sewing project I tackled was my daughter’s wedding dress. I made the prototype in muslim and after making necessary alterations, prepared to cut out the pieces in the silk we purchased at Britex Fabrics in San Francisco. I found myself sweating before I made the first cut, so I had to take another shower before starting to cut!

Way late :)
I recently started my blog and it has everything from sewing to baking and cooking, crocheting and general crafting. I got back into sewing when my little girl was born 4 months ago and my new blog has been a fun way of recording my trials and errors!

Unlike the rest of you I don’t love sewing. I’m a bit of a lazy sewer who loves quick results. I do a whole host of other things but especially gift wrapping. I sometimes use a bit of sewing when I make the fripperies to adorn presents. Hop over to check out my site http://www.giftfrippery.co.uk and leave me a comment!
