Wow, we’re heading into week six of the Spring Palette Challenge. I have to admit, I haven’t done much sewing this week. I’ve had some major things going on… good things! Kenn and I are in the process of buying our first home! We’ve had a lot of bad luck in searching for a house, but it looks like we have finally found a perfect little cottage just half a mile from the studio. We bought the flowers above to help us celebrate. Some day I plan to grow these in our own garden, hydrangea and ranunculus.

But back to sewing! Here’s the fabric and trim for my next dress. The fabric is a butter yellow silk-linen blend. I know it will wrinkle a lot, but I don’t really care because I love linen in warm months. The daisy trim is vintage and I have a lot of it!
As always, you can post about your own progress in the forum!

The silk-linen blend surely will not wrinkle nearly as much as pure linen would have done. The colours will be lovely together.
I hope everything now goes smoothly with the purchase of your cottage. How nice to find something so close to your studio too. The plans for the garden sound good too.
I like your optimism, Mandy. I hope you’re right about the fabric!
Congratulations on your new house! How exciting! :) I have finished one item for the challenge and I’ve taken a slight detour to finish a few things for Me Made March. Then it’s back to sewing pretty dresses! :)
Those flowers are just beautiful! I hope all goes well with the house purchase. Love the daisy trim too!
I’m excited for you and your new little house! I think the colors in the flowers would be a good palette. :-) I’m feeling a little left out since I didn’t do the challenge. I am working on my house and choosing paint colors etc. instead, which is totally fun, so that’s why I didn’t feel I’d have time to really do it. I hope you will do a fall challenge since I hope to be finished with the house by then and would love to be a part of such a fun and inspiring event.
I’d definitely like to do another one for the Fall! I think it would be really fun. Plus, I already know what colors I’d do, I think.
Good luck with the new house!
That fabric looks really pretty with the trim – can’t wait to see the finished item.
Congratulations on your new house! Buying a house can be stressful, but its worth it in the end.
