Photos from the launch party
I wanted to share some photos from our recent book release party for The Colette Sewing Handbook. We had a great time, and I’m so thankful so many people pitched in to help out. Thanks especially to Rachel (former contributor to this blog) who offered to come early to help set up. What a pal.
Kenn and I spent most of the day of the party blowing up balloons, including giant balloons (humorously labeled “megaloons” on the package) and these huge gold letter balloons that spelled Colette.
And of course, what would I do without Caitlin’s abilities to arrange flowers and pose adorably with balloons?
I made these vegan peanut butter cookies shaped like buttons.
I wish you all could have been there! Throwing this party has made me want to do more events, that’s for sure.

How fun! I love how you put so much thought into the little things like the cookies, balloons, the table with the sewing supplies and wine, etc. Sometimes I drink wine while I sew, but then I start cutting in the wrong spots and and things just get weird.

It’s easy! Here’s a post on bakerella showing you how to make the cookies. I made mine a little bigger, and used the vegan PB cookie recipe from 101 Cookbooks.

What a lovely party! The button cookies are adorable. My copy of the book arrived yesterday, and it is fabulous! I stayed up way too late reading it, I can’t wait to try out the patterns.

Hi Sarai! Dana from Made was kind enough to share your blog. If I don’t win a copy of your book I’m definitely ordering it as I love sewing dresses for myself. Great party btw!

It looks like so much fun! The timing just wasn’t right for me this time but I hope if there is an event in the future that I can attend.
